The 5 foot 7 man struck Rangers’ third of the night, and fans took to Twitter to hail the 37-year-old’s goal-scoring display, with a couple of supporters pointing out how Defoe’s age simply doesn’t matter.
Many Rangers fans lauded the striker’s ruthless streak inside the penalty area, and hailed his fine strike to make it 3-0.
A couple of supporters of the Ibrox side also hailed his professionalism, and that it showed his character that he can just come into the side and perform like that.
At 37, Defoe is no doubt in the twilight stages of his footballing career. But if he continues to score on a regular basis like he has done all season, then Gerrard will surely be hoping he puts off any plans of a potential retirement.
Meanwhile, Rangers fans react to this ace’s display against Motherwell.
