Everton starlet Anthony Gordon has sent a defiant message of patience as he waits to be handed an opportunity to spread his wings after being snubbed in the Carabao Cup fourth round victory over Watford on Tuesday night.
At a time when there’s precious little to be positive about as an Everton fan, having already lost six times in the Premier League this season, the emergence of academy produced talent like Gordon would surely act as a major boost. The 18-year-old, who has been described as ‘explosive’, has been in fine form for David Unsworth under 23s side having scored six and created two more in the Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy combined.

At the beginning of October, Marco Silva admitted that the youngster was close to breaking into the first-team. But with the Carabao Cup on the backburner until the next round of fixtures, and the club’s current Premier League situation hardly debut-friendly, Gordon will have to wait for his opportunity.
After being omitted from Silva’s squad he posted: “Patience is not about waiting, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.”
