Sunday was quite an afternoon for Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.
Having failed to score his 100th Premier League goal against Manchester United at Wembley on Wednesday night, Kane looked to reach the landmark against Liverpool at Anfield.
It did appear that the 24-year-old would have to wait to reach 100 when he missed a penalty in the second half of the pulsating clash on Merseyside.
Kane was given a second bite of the cherry in the final seconds, however, and he netted his second spot kick to secure a 2-2 draw for his team, and indeed reach 100 Premier League goals in the process.
It is not too long ago that many claimed that Kane did not have the credentials to operate at the top level of English football.
Kane has come a long way in a short space of time, however, and he will now have his eyes on breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260.
Tottenham’s official Twitter account posted an image of Kane on Sunday afternoon, and the club’s supporters were out in force to pay tribute to the Englishman.
