When Jordan Hugill joined West Ham United on the final day of the January transfer window, fans were not hugely impressed.
The East London outfit’s interest in the 25-year-old seemed to come out of nowhere, but nevertheless, the forward finalised a £10m move from Preston North End.
It did not become obviously clear what Hugill’s role would be for the remainder of the season, and so far, all we can tell is that it has been limited.
The attacker has made just three appearances, all of which have been as a substitute in the Premier League.

In total, Hugill has been on the pitch for just 22 minutes in the top flight, so his statistics of zero goals and assists is not hugely surprising.
For Preston in the first half of the season, the forward found the back of the net eight times and created one assist in 27 Championship outings.
At the moment, it appears that Hugill is not going to play a significant part in David Moyes’s plans, which has led football.london reporter Sam Inkersole to question why the Englishman is yet to shine at West Ham.
The fans think that they have the answer.
