Celtic are interested in a move for Ipswich Town defensive prospect Dylan Crowe, according to The Daily Mail.
What’s the story?
The paper reckon the England youth international is wanted by multiple clubs, with his contract at the Tractor Boys set to expire this summer.
Recently relegated Huddersfield are looking to land the right-back for a six-figure compensation fee and are front runners for his signature, states the report, but cross border rules means Celtic could pay less than an English rival.
With Bundesliga side RB Leipzig also in the hunt, he would appear to have pretty good scouted potential for there to be three ambitious clubs in the mix.

What Celtic need?
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with investing in youth players but if the Hoops make their first summer signing an entirely untested teenage right-back it’s unlikely to go down well with supporters.
Crowe though may well be a talented player and having played with England to U18s level is clearly well thought of down south. If he joined Celtic he would likely slot into their development and reserve side initially, potentially providing a long-term solution to the right-back position.
It’s in the short-term that Celtic badly need quality options though.
Right-back woes
Celtic have serious problems on the right side of the defensive line this summer with Mikael Lustig’s and Cristian Gamboa’s contracts both expiring and the underwhelming Jeremy Toljan heading back to Borussia Dortmund.
The Hoops need quality in the position and fast, with massive UEFA Champions League qualifiers on the immediate horizon.
Recruitment has been a struggle there for a number of transfer windows now and if they don’t get it right over the next few months, there’ll be a serious weakness in this Celtic side.
