Tottenham Hotspur fans have hit back at Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy after his quotes on striker Troy Parrott.
The forward signed a new deal last week, tying him to the club until 2023.
Of course, he has been exceptional in the youth teams, scoring 30 goals in 36 outings, and has made two appearances for the club at senior level, against Colchester United in the EFL Cup while Mauricio Pochettino was manager, and against Burnley in the Premier League following the appointment of Jose Mourinho.

Against Colchester, he started, though he played just five minutes against the Clarets, with the club 5-0 up at the time of his introduction as a substitute.
McCarthy, though, was asked about whether he was happy with Parrott committing his future to Spurs.
Per The Irish Times, he replied: “Not really. I wish he’d gone to Charlton and played games on loan.”
And fans are perhaps rightly disappointed with his quotes, while others have told him that it is simply none of his business.
Others believe, however, that McCarthy is looking out for himself in terms of his Ireland squad.
The Boys In Green have a vital Euro 2020 playoff against Slovakia looming and the striking options in their recent squad were Stoke City forward Scott Hogan, on loan from Birmingham City, Preston North End’s Sean Maguire, and Sheffield United’s Callum Robinson, who joined West Bromwich Albion on loan in January.
Between them, the three have scored 10 goals at club level this season, with Hogan and Maguire on four each, and Robinson on two.
Having Parrott in McCarthy’s squad, then, would have perhaps added a cutting edge, though there is no guarantee he would have scored goals for his country at senior international level.
He has, though, hit the net at every single youth level he has been capped at.
Meanwhile, Spurs’ Player of the Season is surely already set!
