The ex-Leicester City and Manchester United midfielder marshalled the phoenix club, built from the remnants of the now-defunct Macclesfield Town, to a commanding title-winning season in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. Savage's side have won 29 of their 36 games, and have secured the crown with six games remaining. The success was confirmed earlier this afternoon with a 2-1 win over Bamber Bridge.

The TNT Pundit has been a owner of the club since 2020, but only installed himself as coach this season. Never one to shy away from a challenge, the combative Savage previously said he would sack himself if he couldn't secure the Silkmen a promotion.
WHAT ROBBIE SAVAGE SAID
Robbie Savage said: "I’ve been lucky enough to captain four teams in the Premier League, play nearly 350 games in the top-flight, appear in Wembley finals and win 39 caps for my country.
"But Macclesfield being crowned champions of the Northern Premier League was my proudest moment of all.
"For all the haters, doubters and keyboard warriors, they have fuelled my fire and that of my players.
"I have answered every single person who spoke negatively about us."
