Shaw's United career has been plagued by injuries and he has been sidelined for the majority of this season. The 29-year-old missed the first three months of the campaign with injuries and managed two Premier League and one Europa League appearances before he was ruled out again. He has returned to training and could be back in Ruben Amorim's squad before the season ends.

Fernandes has been first-team regular since he joined from Sporting in 2020, starting 184 of the 187 league games in which he has played. He has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer, but Amorim dismissed talk of him being sold.
"He’s not going anywhere because I’ve already told him," he said.
