Hojlund has struggled for form ever since he completed his move to Old Trafford from Atalanta in the summer of 2023. In his debut Premier League season, the Danish forward scored a respectable 10 goals, but in 2024-25 has managed to bag just three league goals in 28 appearances so far.

Hojlund's struggles continued against Wolves as United went down 1-0 last Sunday. After the game, Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer labelled the Red Devils star as 'damaged' and raised questions over the player's credentials to represent a club of United's stature. Ferdinand has now shared valuable advice for the Denmark international that could help him.
WHAT RIO FERDINAND SAID
Speaking on his podcast, Ferdinand said: "He's got to get hold of the winger and say, 'this is what I need'. When you're in these positions, 'this is what I'd like'. Let's take it back. Put yourself in positions to show your best attributes. At the moment, we're seeing far too many of your weakest attributes.
"You need to free yourself up from any contact and start running. That's the one big thing I would say to any player struggling for confidence. Strip it back, simplify and do what has got you there."
