Although Liverpool’s Christian Benteke did in-fact fall to ground way too easily in order to win a last minute penalty for his side last time out against Crystal Palace, Alan Pardew’s subsequent fury over the matter has hardly served to improve the current atmosphere in and around Selhurst Park, seeing as his team have failed to record a single Premier League victory since before the turn of the year.
The luckless Eagles look like a club in free-fall at this particular stage in the proceedings, and whilst it still remains somewhat difficult to envisage Crystal Palace finding themselves in the bottom three come the final culmination of the 2015/16 campaign, some sections of the Selhurst Park faithful are feeling slightly less optimistic than others shall we say…
So, as the South London outfit have certainly been displaying something close to relegation form out on the pitch in recent weeks – must Crystal Palace simply keep faith in their current main-man in the dug-out right in the here and now, or should Alan Pardew be shown the door down at Selhurst Park sooner rather than later?
As you have to cast your mind all the way back to mid-December in order to recollect the last time the Eagles actually won a domestic league match, it seems as if the writing may already be on the wall for Alan Pardew.

His somewhat jaded side have looked completely void of confidence throughout this poor run of form in the Premier League, several high earners have seemingly failed to produce their very best level of performance of late and although some were touting Pardew as the next deserving manager of the Three Lions squad not so long ago, the man himself seems to be letting certain situations get the better of him these days.
Pardew’s recent outburst over Christian Benteke’s perceived last minute dive may have been justified, but it painted the current Crystal Palace manager out in a rather vulnerable light, for his distinct lack of control was evident for all to see.
We have seen this somewhat unorthodox side to Alan Pardew’s character in several seasons past of course. Whether it be through taunting Arsene Wenger with a surprise little touch-line jig during his previous managerial spell at Upton Park, or simply head-butting opposing players and getting overly physical with fourth officials whilst operating at St. James’ – this is a man who clearly doesn’t mind crossing the line every now and then.
But should any of this really result in Alan Pardew losing his current post down at Selhurst Park this season? Surely not…
Regardless of how bitter most Eagles fans may be at this particular stage in the 2015/16 campaign, Crystal Palace need someone with Pardew’s unmistakable sense of passion to help them out of their current predicament, even if such behaviour has indeed resulted in one or two childish outbursts from the manager in question.
The former Reading, West Ham, Charlton, Southampton and Newcastle boss is clearly hurting on the back of his side’s poor run of form in the Premier League, and although the 54-year-old tactician certainly needs to pull himself together in what could very well turn out to be a rather significant end to the season for Crystal Palace this term, that is something that should endear Alan Pardew towards the Selhurst Park faithful.
The Eagles have been very unlucky with injuries in recent weeks it must be said. When Pardew has a fully fit squad to call upon this season, his prior managerial experience in Premier League and obvious desire to turn things around down in South London will surely serve to benefit Crystal Palace in the not too distant future, even if such an idealistic eventuality does feel some way off at the minute.
So despite the recent sense of doubt and uncertainly to surround the current Eagles boss in 2015/16, Alan Pardew remains the right man for the job at Crystal Palace within the grand scheme of things, for every top-flight manager seemingly experiences a poor run of form at some stage down the line.
